Sinclair is a portrait and social documentary photographer
whose work is about real visibility. Her work aims to create an inclusive collection
where everyone feels valued and welcomed.

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Heritage celebrates
the lives of ordinary people that make up Reading’s Black community. Approaching
strangers on the street, the work becomes a democratic visual archive of the
town. The intimate, close-up frames leave space for us to consider the extensive
and multifaceted stories behind each of these people.

“Rather than staging formal, curated gallery portraits or
focusing on high-profile figures, my project takes to the pavement. I am
approaching ordinary Black individuals on the streets of Reading to take
candid, dignified street portraits. The goal is to create a democratic,
completely inclusive visual archive of the people who actually make up our
town's everyday community.”

Sinclair has previously exhibited at The Glasgow Gallery of
Photography.
