Good Luck to You, Leo Grande

Friday 10th June, 8pm.

(15) Director: Sophie Hyde. 112 minutes (inc. recorded Q&A)

Nancy Stokes (Emma Thompson), a retired schoolteacher and widow, is yearning for some adventure, some human connection, and some sex. Good sex. Whilst her husband Robert provided a home, a family, and something resembling a life, good sex was never on offer. But he’s gone now, and Nancy has a plan: she will find adventure with a sex worker named Leo Grande (Daryl McCormack).

Free Chol Soo Lee

Saturday 11th June, 8pm.

(15) Directors: Julie Ha, Eugene Yi. 108 minutes (inc. recorded Q&A)

In 1970s San Francisco, 20-year-old Korean immigrant Chol Soo Lee is racially profiled and convicted of a Chinatown gang murder.

After spending years fighting to survive, investigative journalist K.W. Lee takes a special interest in his case, igniting an unprecedented social justice movement.

A Love Song

Sunday 12th June, 8pm.

(15) Director: Max Walker-Silverman. 106 minutes (inc. recorded Q&A)

At an idyllic campground in the Colorado Mountains, Faye (Dale Dickey) camps in her trailer.

Faye is waiting for Lito (Wes Studi), a childhood sweetheart she hasn’t seen in decades. The two, now both widowed, share a night by a lake in the mountains – making small talk, sharing memories, and sheltering together from loneliness.

Showcasing the immeasurable talents of both of its leads,  A Love Song paints a heartfelt portrait of yearning and the passage of time, set amongst unadorned American landscape.
